Hearne, Texas and San Antonio, Texas based terminals offer:
- CBOB Gasoline blends (Conventional Gasoline with 10% ethanol)
Diesel
R.B. Stewart Petroleum, Inc. can deliver you diesel in a bobtail truck for loads of 1 to 2,800 gallons or from 2,800 to 6,800 gallons in one of our transport trucks.
All ULSD in the 110 non-attainment counties of Texas require an approved Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) additive that reduces NOx emissions greater than 5.8%. This approved diesel is called Texas Low Emission Diesel.
The diesel at the Austin, Hearne, Houston, Pasadena, and San Antonio based terminals all meet the qualifications of a Texas Low Emission Diesel fuel.
We offer our customers the following types of diesel:
- Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (15 PPM)
- Off Road Sulfur Diesel Fuel (15 PPM)
Biodiesel
Biodiesel is a clean burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic, renewable resources. Biodiesel does not contain petroleum, but it can be blended with petroleum to create a B5, B10, B15, or B20 biodiesel blend here in Texas. Biodiesel is biodegradable, non toxic, and virtualy free of sulfer and aromatics.
The biodiesel R.B. Stewart purchases is produced to strict industry ASTM D6751 specifications so it performs well in your vehicles.
The National Biodiesel Accrediation is a cooperative and voluntary program for the accrediation of producers and marketers of biodiesel fuel called BQ-9000. The program is a unique combination of the ASTM standard for biodiesel, ASTM D6751, and a quality systems program that includes storage, sampling, testing, blending, shipping, distribution, and fuel management practices. All R.B. Stewart products meet the BQ-9000 accrediation. Our biodiesel is also registered with the EPA and is a legal motor fuel.
One of the major advantages of biodiesel is the fact that it can be used in most existing diesel engines and fuel injection equipment in blends up to 20 percent with little impact to operating performance
In more than 25 million miles of field tests, B20 showed similar fuel consumption, horsepower, torque, and haulage rates as conventional diesel.

Ethanol
Ethanol fuel is a gasoline that is manufactured from the conversion of carbon based feed stocks such as switch grass, barley, corn, sugar cane, and sugar beets. It is an alternative from petroleum and reduces harmful emissions in vehicles. Ethanol can be blended with gasoline at different percentages. Most common gasoline has a 10% ethanol blend. Recent government action has approved an E15 fuel (15% ethanol blended with gasoline), but suppliers are still debating the proposed pump label specifications and warnings.
Jet Fuel
Jet Fuel is a type of aviation fuel designed for the use in aircraft powered by gas turbine engines. The most commonly used fuel for commercial aviation in the United States is Jet A.
R.B. Stewart Petroleum, Inc. can deliver you Jet A in a bobtail truck for loads of 1 to 2,800 gallons or from 2,800 gallons to 8,100 gallons in one of our transport trucks.
Health Benefits
- U.S. biodiesel reduces lifecycle carbon emissions by 60 to 80 percent, depending on the source, making it the best carbon reduction tool of any liquid fuel commercially available.
- Biodiesel has the highest energy balance of any fuel, returning 4.5 units of energy for every unit of fossil energy needed to produce it.
Pour Point
The pour point happens when diesel is cooled, wax crystals agglomerate and cause the fuel to solidify. The pour point is defined as the temperature 5 degrees Farenheit above the point at which the oil stops flowing.
The testing results are shown below:
Degrees F Cloud Pour
ULSD 0 <-5
B5 +4 0
B10 +8 +5
B20 +16 +10
The hand blend test results state that a B10 blend temperature would have to fall below 10 degrees F to have associated cold weather issues with the fuel. Many of the issues related to biodiesel are from the initial mix, when the ULSD and biodiesel are introduced. There are only a few locations that have diesel and biodiesel at the same location. Because of this limitation, most biodiesel was top loaded on the diesel. Our supplier's tank is heated, which allows the biodiesel to reach 100+ F while it is proportionally blended with ULSD and ensuring a well blended fuel.
Biodiesel & Cold Weather
Within the last year our BQ-9000 biodiesel supplier did "hand blend" tests at their lab to test the cloud and pour points of their biodiesel blends. Could point and pour point are the two most associated cold weather issues.
Cloud Point
The cloud point is the temperature at which wax in diesel fuel becomes cloudy when it is cooled. Wax is inherent in diesel fuel. As the fuel is cooled, the wax will crystalize forming platelets that clog fuel filters. Typical diesel fuels will fail at temperatures near the cloud point.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) & Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
Diesel Exhaust Fluid and Selective Catalytic Reduction are two specially designed solutions that are used to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) levels in the emissions of diesel powered vehicles.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)
Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a high-purity urea solution in deionized water. It was developed for implementation in Europe over 2 years ago. DEF carries ammonia needed to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from vehicles into nitrogen, water, and carbon dioxide (CO2). DEF is also API certified.
* To learn more about DEF click the link below.
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
SCR technology is designed to permit nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction reactions to take place in an oxidizing atmosphere. It is called "selective" because it reduces levels of NOx using ammonia as a reductant within a catalyst system. The reducing agent reacts with NOx to convert the pollutants into nitrogen, water, and tiny amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) - natural elements common to the air we breathe everyday. The reductant source is usually automotive-grade urea, otherwise know as Diesel Exhaust Fluid, which can be rapidly hydrolyzed to produce the oxidizing ammonia in the exhaust stream. SCR technology can achieve NOx reductions in excess of 90%.
* To learn more about SCR, click on the link below to view the Diesel Technology Forum's SCR Fact Sheet. to visit the Selective Cayalytic Reduction website.
SCR reduces diesel powered vehicle emissions:
- NOx by up to 90%
- HC and CO by 50% - 90%
- Particulate matter by 30% - 50%
- Better fuel economy - 3 % to 5%
